At Fair Sew each employee is offered a fair and safe work environment. | Khmer Artisanry, owned by Seila Polham, was also on our list for the sourcing of fabric. Seila, who is the principle founder of Khmer Artisanry was also one of our participants in the first course. Another highlight was her experience at the trade fair Apparel Sourcing in Paris. | Third on our list was A.N.D. where we found out about the different types of Ikat and fabrics that are offered there.
The participants had the opportunity to find a big variety of fabrics which were produced by their community in, e.g. Takeo Province. Mr. Pheap told us about his successful experience at Bazaar Berlin for which he had been chosen in the previous course. | The second stop on our excursion was Lotus Silk.
Lotus Silk belongs to Vannary San, one of our former participants and winners of the very first MEDC course.
Our participants got to see different types of tie-dyeing patterns which were produced by Lotus Silk and its Community | Our participants get to know local fabric producers who support different weaving and dyeing communities.
The first stop of our fabric sourcing excursion was Watthan Artisan.
They were able to take a look at the process behind the scenes as it is important to understand what measures must be taken to produce the fabric in a sustainable and ethical manner. |
